Under the tutelage of the renowned Romana Kryzanowska in 1987, James embarked on his journey in the world of movement and education. This transformative experience at the Houston Ballet not only instilled in him a deep understanding of the human body but also ignited a passion for helping others achieve their physical potential.

Driven by this passion, James embarked on an academic pursuit, earning his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Psychology in 1991. This dual degree laid a strong foundation in both the scientific and psychological aspects of human movement, preparing him to delve deeper into the field.

Never one to rest on his laurels, James continued his studies, pursuing a Masters of Education in Physical Education with a specialization in Exercise and Health-Related Fitness in 1993. This intensive program equipped him with the knowledge and expertise to design and implement effective exercise programs tailored to individual needs and goals.

While pursuing his Master's degree, James gained invaluable experience as a University of Houston Teaching Fellow. In this role, he had the opportunity to share his knowledge and passion with undergraduate students and student athletes, instructing them in a diverse range of exercise science-related subjects. These included:

  • Nutrition: Guiding students towards healthy eating habits that fuel their bodies and performance.

  • Exercise Physiology: Demystifying the inner workings of the body during exercise, allowing students to train smarter.

  • Anatomy: Providing a detailed understanding of the musculoskeletal system, essential for safe and effective movement.

  • Strength Training: Equipping students with the tools and techniques to build strength and power.

  • Motor Learning: Exploring the science behind skill acquisition, helping students learn and refine their movements.

  • Sports Psychology: Delving into the mental aspects of performance, empowering students to achieve their athletic goals.

James' experience as a Pilates instructor, coupled with his academic achievements and teaching experience, has shaped him into a well-rounded and knowledgeable professional. His passion for movement and dedication to education make him an invaluable asset in any setting, whether it be a fitness studio, a university classroom, or a sports training facility.
